NILS AIUB Chapter Organizes Seminar on “Basics of Newspaper Article Writing”

To enhance students' skills in effective newspaper article writing, NILS AIUB Chapter successfully organized a seminar titled "Basics of Newspaper Article Writing" on Monday, 03 August 2026. The seminar provided participants with practical insights into the essential techniques and principles of writing professional newspaper articles.

The workshop commenced with an opening speech by Md. Muhtasim Faiaz, Lecturer, Department of Law and Advisor, NILS AIUB Chapter, AIUB, who emphasized the importance of co-curricular activities, the Chapter’s commitment to developing students’ practical skills, and the relevance of effective newspaper writing to strengthening law students’ research, analytical, and communication skills.

The keynote speaker for the seminar was H. M. Nazmul Alam, Lecturer in the Department of English and Modern Languages at the International University of Business Agriculture and Technology (IUBAT) and former Assistant Editor of The Daily Ittefaq. The seminar featured an interactive discussion and question-and-answer session, where participants actively engaged with the speaker. Drawing from his extensive professional experience, he shared practical techniques, industry insights, and the core principles of newspaper article writing, offering students a comprehensive understanding of the subject.

The event was jointly organized by Dr. Robayet Ferdous Syed, Department Head, Department of Law, AIUB; Ms. Rostoma Begum Chaudhury, Assistant Professor, Department of Law and Advisor, NILS AIUB Chapter, AIUB; and Md. Jahedul Islam, Lecturer, Department of Law, AIUB.

The seminar concluded with closing remarks by Md. Jahedul Islam, Lecturer, Department of Law, AIUB, who expressed his sincere gratitude to the distinguished guest speaker and participants for their thoughtful contributions and active engagement throughout the session. The organization reaffirmed its commitment to organizing further academic, co-curricular, and skill-development initiatives to support students in strengthening their practical knowledge, communication skills, and professional competencies.
