The Office of Research organized a meeting with AIUB management and research scholars on August 25, 2025, at Media Studio-02, Annex-9. The meeting brought together honorable members of the Board of Trustees (BoT), the Vice-Chancellor, Pro-Vice-Chancellor, Deans of various faculties, representatives from the Office of Ranking and Global Engagement, and faculty members with notable research achievements, including highly cited publications and significant Scopus-indexed research outputs.

The meeting commenced with an opening presentation by Associate Professor Dr. Mohammad Hasan Imam from the Office of Research, who provided an overview of research citations and discussed local and international research collaboration guidelines, research ethics, and the prevention of research misconduct. The session focused on exploring research collaboration opportunities, enhancing research output and impact, increasing citations per paper and per faculty member, and strengthening the overall visibility and profile of AIUB’s research activities.

The event was graced by the presence of Board of Trustees members Dr. Hasanul A. Hasan, Mr. Ishtiaque Abedin, and Prof. Dr. Carmen Z. Lamagna. University management emphasized the importance of fostering a robust and collaborative research culture through interdisciplinary and international partnerships, improved research visibility, and broader dissemination of scholarly work. Research scholars actively shared their research experiences, challenges, ideas, and suggestions directly with leadership. The interactive discussion also highlighted strategic avenues to boost research productivity, cross-departmental collaboration, and academic impact across AIUB.

Mr. Ishtiaque Abedin’s guidance focused primarily on strengthening AIUB’s research performance, global visibility, and international engagement. His key recommendations included improving university rankings and citation impact, encouraging collaborative publications, facilitating foreign faculty engagement, and organizing webinars and seminars with international experts.

Prof. Dr. Carmen Z. Lamagna emphasized extending research impact beyond traditional publication. She encouraged faculty members to actively promote their published work through social media, LinkedIn, research newsletters, and other communication channels, while also exploring alumni engagement. She suggested sharing the AIUB Newsletter with external colleagues and friends to broaden reach, presenting findings through webinars with international co-authors, and exploring opportunities to serve as research fellows at international universities—and hosting visiting fellows in return.

Dr. Hasanul A. Hasan addressed AIUB’s institutional rankings, publication outputs, and citation impact. He encouraged faculty members to partner with foreign researchers and supervisors to expand international networks, attract international faculty and scholars, and drive global academic collaboration.

The meeting was also attended by Prof. Dr. Saiful Islam, Vice-Chancellor; Prof. Dr. Md. Abdur Rahman, Pro-Vice-Chancellor; Prof. Dr. ABM Siddique Hossain, Dean, Faculty of Engineering; Prof. Dr. Anwar Hossain, Advisor and Dean (In-Charge), Faculty of Business Administration; Prof. Dr. Tazul Islam, Dean, Faculty of Arts and Social Sciences; Prof. Dr. Dip Nandi, Dean, Faculty of Science and Technology; and Senior Associate Professor Mr. Mashiour Rahman from the Office of Ranking and Global Engagement.

Prof. Dr. Saiful Islam underscored the importance of selecting novel, high-impact research topics to boost citation numbers and encouraged collaborative research in multidisciplinary areas. Prof. Dr. Md. Abdur Rahman moderated the open discussion, providing valuable insights to complement earlier points. Furthermore, he encouraged the development of state-of-the-art laboratories across faculties and assured full technical and financial support from AIUB leadership.

The meeting was also attended by Associate Professor Dr. Mohammad Mahmudul Hasan, Prof. Dr. Md. Faruque Hossain, Prof. Dr. Asif Kamal, and Prof. Dr. Mohammed Jashim Uddin from the Office of Research. The gathering reaffirmed AIUB’s commitment to fostering a strong, collaborative, visible, and impactful research environment, ultimately advancing the university’s research standing both nationally and globally.
