As part of AIUB Sustainable Futures 2026, a seminar on green entrepreneurship, circular economy, and startup funding was held on 25 August 2026 at the AIUB Multipurpose Hall, Annex 7.

The seminar featured Sayed Zubaer Hasan, Founder & CEO of Krishi Shwapno, as the keynote speaker. Hasan is an AgriTech and Climate Entrepreneur and a Forbes 30 Under 30 Asia 2025 Honoree in the Social Impact category. He is also a Meaningful Business 100 (MB100) Winner 2025 and has received several other recognitions.

In his keynote session, Hasan encouraged participants to move beyond conventional environmental activities and explore technology-driven, market-oriented approaches to sustainability. He spoke about building green and circular economy solutions that can address real environmental challenges while also creating sustainable business opportunities. He highlighted the importance of campus prototyping, developing lean minimum viable products (MVPs), improving resource efficiency, and using data and technology to develop scalable solutions in areas such as circular food systems, waste reduction, and sustainable supply chains.

The seminar also featured Mahfuz Rahman, CMA, Vice President, Venture Capital, PE & Impact Investor, who shared practical insights into how startup projects and innovative ideas can secure funding. His session explored the perspective of investors when evaluating early-stage ventures and highlighted considerations such as business models, market potential, scalability, impact, and investment readiness.

Together, the sessions connected two important dimensions of sustainable entrepreneurship, developing innovative solutions and understanding how those solutions can be funded and scaled. The seminar provided AIUB students with practical perspectives on turning sustainability challenges into opportunities for innovation, entrepreneurship, and positive impact.

AIUB Sustainable Futures 2026 was held on 24 - 25 August 2026 under the theme “Be the Change,” bringing together learning, dialogue, innovation, and student engagement around sustainability. The event was organized by AIUB-IQAC in collaboration with OSA, with ACCA Bangladesh as Knowledge Partner and Krishi Shwapno as Sustainability Partner.
